About an hour after I wrote my last post last Tuesday, I got a call from my cousin telling me that his wife, and my close friend was in the hospital and that she was in labor with their second child Kade. I've been extremely close to them, they are more of my best friends than they are family. Brian works with my cousin and my uncle, so I spend ALOT of time with Melissa and her daughter Baylee. Baylee is practically my niece.
So I dropped what I was doing and drove to Sugarland to the hospital. Melissa was not very close to delivering just yet. I spent all afternoon there, and then went home and picked up Brian and we went back to the hospital and left and went home again after midnight. We woke up the next morning, Brian went to work, and I traveled to the hospital. As the sun was rising, at 7:09 on Wednesday, October 6, Kade Evan Tarver was born!
Here are the proud parents! <3
Kade was in the hospital until Friday. He had jaundice, and had to let the billirubin levels reduce before being released. I stayed at the hospital all day on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday until they were released. I never stayed the night, but I was there during the entire day. We got to their house and everyone started arriving to welcome the baby. I cooked dinner for the 20 people that were there, so that Mel & Deric didn't have to worry about it. Brian and I ended up going to my aunt's with my cousin and his girlfriend, and we had a lot to discuss and we had a few drinks too.
Brian and I slept in on Saturday and woke up to lunchtime. He took me out to Firehouse here in EC, and we enjoyed our alone time together. We headed to Mel & Deric's to visit the baby, and I got a phone call that I was hoping would never happen again. My mom called to tell me that my brother had been arrested that Thursday night, and that he is in jail yet again.
Immediately, I knew that Brian and I needed to be with my parents. We're a tight knit family and I love them so much, so I depend on their love, and so do they. Brian and I immediately packed up and headed to Johnson City. It felt good to see them since ALOT had gone on in the week that I didn't see them.
We had a wonderful weekend with them, despite the circumstances, I thoroughly enjoyed my time with them, and I know I would have been a wreck if I hadn't gone to see them.
Brian and I ended up having a date night on Sunday. We went to Austin Pizza Garden (my all-time favorite pizza place). We then headed to Academy and got our hunting & fishing licenses and camo gear for the hunting season ahead.
After shopping we headed to the movie theater and watched Life As We Know It. It was an awesome movie. It is definetely a favorite new movie of mine!!! It was wonderful to get some one-on-one time with my soul mate. We never realize how much we really miss each other until we are together alone.
I just prepped dinner and now I'm waiting for Brian to call me to let me know when he will be home. On the menu: Bacon Wrapped Pork Loin Roast with Corn and Mac & Cheese.
