From my suitcase...

I'm writing from Baffin Bay, TX, on my iPhone. It's this little bay on the coast of Texas, south of Corpus Christi & Kingsville.

It's this little slice of heaven, where most people don't know of, and the fishin is mighty fine!

See what I mean!?! I'm here with my parents. We got here Tuesday morning, and are leaving, well now...lol.

Hubby-to-be is in Pecos, TX working his tail off so we have an awesome honeymoon in October. He'll be there for another 14 days or so, unfortunately. He told me I had to go with my parents so we don't starve, lol...I'm the hunter-gatherer for now!

It's back to the wedding grind tomorrow. Invitations, programs, tags, and much more must be made within the next 3 months before the wedding.

We've gotten a good chunk of projects finished...146 candles, 120 jars of peach preserves and peach butter, and our 100 Save The Dates went out this past Monday!

Once I get a break, I'll most likely write a few posts about all the projects we've done. My crafting has been focused on invitations and such, so projects are limited to the wedding right now.

Busy, busy, busy!

Have a wonderful Independence Day weekend. Remember the real reason for our celebration, because we would not be where we are today without this significant day in USA history.

Paradise!

Hi, from Jamaica Beach, TX. It's near Galveston Island! {the blue dot below}

I'm having a wonderful weekend in paradise! We're at a friend's beach house enjoying the sun, sand & water! Lots of fishing, a few cocktails, and more R&R!

Enjoy the scenery! I hope you're having a wonderful Father's Day Weekend too!

NASCAR

On April 8, we traveled to Fort Worth to be a part of an amazing experience...
NASCAR
Us Lucky Lees to be are rednecks, no doubt about it...
Mr. Lee is more redneck than me, and proud of it.
We hunt, we fish, we camp, let's just say we do ALOT of redneck things.
Just by looking at us, you wouldn't be able to tell that we're that redneck.
But once you get to know Mr. Lee and I, you notice a recurring trend.
We're not the worst rednecks out there, for sure, but our life, tends to lean towards redneck, or country, if you're being polite lol.

So why not visit the most recognized redneck sport out there, NASCAR racing!

Hubs-to-be has been a NASCAR fan for 75% of his life...we think he was born a fan, lol
But he has never experienced a race, besides on TV.
I luckily got the chance to go back in high school, only 2 months after Mr. Lee & I started dating.
He was perturbed to say the least, and he never let me live it down,
until 2 weekends ago.

In February, I purchased NASCAR tickets for him as belated 25th birthday surprise. When he arrived home from West Virginia, I gave him the tickets. It was probably the best surprise he will ever have in his lifetime.

The entire weekend, Mr. Lee thanked me 75 times a day. Literally.

Just look at these pictures, and you'll notice a glow on Mr. Lee's face...a NASCAR glow

driving by the track the day before...Brian, after he said thank you and 'I love you' for the millionth time
pictures from when we first got there...and how close to the track we were...amazing
the track, Brian at the finish line and us :)
Dale Earnhardt Jr's car...Brian tuning the scanner so we can listen to Jr...the camaro line-up before the race
the flyover. God. Bless. America....Jr coming out of pit road...the first laps before the race
Mr. Lee in AWE of the experience... race started, and a quick pic to make sure we captured the moment
the start of the race, Jimmie Johnson driving by after only 28 seconds around the track, the track as we left, and the rubber pieces that came off of my arms. We were so close to the track, that we were covered in little snippets of rubber....IT.WAS.AWESOME!

We stopped at Cabela's...aka hunter's heaven, on our way home and Casey Mears' car was there for showing. We got pictures of course, and the Texas Motor Speedway sign on the way home.

Thanks NASCAR, and Thanks Texas Motor Speedway, what an awesome opportunity!
See you next April!

let's go fishing

I'm sick, sinus infection, bleh!
i've been on the couch for the past 3 days...
watching movies

I've run out of gingerale, lipton's noodle soup, and emergen-c
i'm running off of ibuprofen, dayquil, water, and my occasional chocolate

{do you feel sorry for me yet?
well don't, i'm enjoying it,
not the miserable part,
but the part where i do nothing but sleep most of the day.}

outside, spring has sprung
which means its time to go fishing again

hubs-to-be and I went fishing 2 weekends ago
I thought I would share some pics from it
since I haven't cooked or crafted in a week
